Chemical Solutions for Personal Care

Mild surfactants, foam boosters, humectants and preservatives for shampoos, body washes, handwashes and cosmetic formulations.

Overview

Personal Care Chemicals from One Manufacturer

Atharva Science supplies personal care manufacturers with the surfactants and functional ingredients behind shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, handwashes and toiletries: SLES, SLS, AOS and CAPB for cleansing and foam; CDEA as a foam booster and thickener; glycerine and propylene glycol as humectants; liquid paraffin for emollience; and preservatives including sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, parabens and DMDM hydantoin.

Personal care formulations depend on mildness, foam feel, viscosity and stability. Our technical team helps formulators balance these, for example pairing SLES with CAPB to improve mildness, or adjusting salt and co-surfactants to reach a target viscosity.

Every supply is backed by consistent quality and documentation, with certificates of analysis and safety data sheets available on request to support brand-owner and regulatory requirements.

Formulation Challenges & Solutions

How We Support Personal Care

Common Questions

Personal Care FAQs

Atharva Science supplies SLES, SLS, AOS and CAPB surfactants, CDEA, glycerine, propylene glycol, liquid paraffin, EDTA, citric acid and preservatives including sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, methyl and propyl paraben and DMDM hydantoin.

Most mild shampoos use SLES as the primary surfactant with CAPB as a co-surfactant. CAPB improves mildness and foam stability, and the blend thickens well with salt.

SLES-based formulas are usually thickened with sodium chloride, often with CAPB or CDEA to help build viscosity. Salt should be added gradually, because past a certain level extra salt makes the formula thinner again.

Yes. Atharva Science supplies sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, methyl and propyl paraben, and DMDM hydantoin for personal care and cosmetic formulations.

Yes. Certificates of analysis and safety data sheets (SDS/MSDS) are available on request for our personal care ingredients.
